A transatlantic celebration of art and learning, The Lyre’s Dream unites Canada, Greece, Bulgaria, and Israel through music’s eternal language.

Created by the English Montreal School Board (EMSB) in collaboration with Greek composer-lyrist-researcher Dr. Nikos Xanthoulis, and under the artistic direction of Maria Diamantis and Dimitris Ilias of Chroma Musika, the project joins the Sofia Session Orchestra, the EMSB Chorale, and student narrators from EMSB High Schools in a musical celebration of Ancient Greek and Hebrew texts.

An educational and artistic odyssey spanning Montreal, Athens, and Sofia, it bridges civilizations and generations — a luminous reminder that, as Seikilos wrote over two millennia ago, “While you live, shine.”
